Chapter 1 - Chloe
The music vibrated through my bones, pulsing in my muscles. Men and women filled every inch of Club X, the hottest club in town. Sarah dumped me an hour ago, hitting it off with a random tattooed skin-head who promised to buy her drinks all night. It wasn't usual. It should bother me, but to be honest, I was used to it and I was happy to enjoy the music, soak up the atmosphere and people watch from the safety of my bar stool propped in the corner.
She caught my eye the second she sauntered to the bar, slapping her hand on the sticky surface to attract the bartender's attention. The instant carnal attraction knocked the wind from my lungs. I've had flings with women in the past, but none had my panties dripping the second my eyes landed on them.
I studied her curves Her head snapped around. She met my gaze instantly. If I didn’t know better, I’d think she felt me watching her and sensed the lust coursing through me.
Oh God, those eyes.
They took my breath away, so blue, blazing bright blue like pools of crystal clear smooth ocean.
"Two vodkas on the rocks," she yelled at the bartender waving a debit card in his face. Even though she'd noticed me staring at her, I couldn't tear my eyes away. Her stunning eyes were so unusual like they glowed and glittered. They shone out from a perfectly proportioned face with thick, lush lips painted a deep blood red and high, defined cheekbones. Her skin was a creamy white, and she was tall with a slender, athletic frame. Everyone noticed her. Millions of eyes scoured the perfect stranger, but it was my soft brown eyes her gaze locked on.
She grabbed her drinks, holding them high over her head as she shimmied toward me, hips swaying in time to the music.
"Lilith," she said, thrusting the spare drink into my hand.
"C-Chloe," I stuttered, completely blindsided by her beauty. As cliché as it sounds, she knocked me off my feet. I couldn't focus on anything but her stunning blue gaze and milky white skin. She was free of blemishes, not a freckle or pimple in sight—like she'd been airbrushed in real life.
"Hey, sugar," a man drawled, interrupting us. He flung his hand over her bare shoulder. Her gaze narrowed, her turquoise eyes seemed to turn to pale, dazzling blue, like ice settled over a frozen lake.
"Get your hand off me before I snap your goddamn fingers," she hissed. He stumbled back, his body trembling as he rushed away from her so fast he fell over his own feet and crashed to the dance floor in an ungainly heap.
"Men," she groaned. "I don't understand what God was thinking when He invented men."
"Yeah," I said my mind still reeling. The most beautiful woman in the bar is talking to me—plain old Chloe Van Helsing, a med student, geek, awkward daughter to the local crazy man. Her easy-going nature, the complete lack of awareness of her stunning looks and wicked sense of humor soon put me at ease. We chatted like old friends. She liked the same music as I did. She loved reading and quiet nights in front of the TV. If I didn't know better, I would say she could read my mind.
Her fingertips traced a circle on my shoulder, shivers ran down my spine. My insides clenched, she even smelled delicious and exotic like coconuts and faraway lands.
"Why don't we go somewhere quieter?" she grinned. A red tongue peeked through her dark, painted lips. I inhaled, gulping in a lungful of her heady aroma.
"Yeah, why don't we."
She grabbed my hand, pulling me to the exit.
Why am I doing this? I'm leaving a club with a stranger, a meltingly hot stranger but still a stranger. We will make love. That's the only reason strangers suggest you go somewhere quieter or slip into something more comfortable. I'm a med student, quiet, geeky and a bit of a loner. I don't do one-night stands.
Lilith stuck her arm out, hailing a cab. She pushed me in first.
"So, um, I live about twenty miles away. The cab fare to mine is expensive," she said, locking her luminous blue eyes on me.
"We'll go to mine," I barked my address at the cab driver. Lilith is like an aphrodisiac. Despite my uncertainty, I knew if I didn't get her home and naked soon, experience the soft caress of her lips on my skin, I would burst. I needed her like my body needed oxygen. She didn't speak as the cab sped through the quiet evening traffic toward my tiny apartment. Her eyes turned to the road and the people we whizzed past. Her hand rested on my thigh, electricity shot through my body. My body tensed, I am certain the second she touches me sensually, I will explode, bursting into a million pieces in her hands.
"I... I've never done this before."
"Don't worry," she grinned, turning her captivating gaze toward me. "I'll start off gentle."
The cab driver glanced in the rear-view mirror, his squinty eyes roamed Lilith's generous breasts. They threatened to burst out of the tight, black corset she bound them in. We pulled up outside my apartment block just in time. A second longer I would strip her bare and fuck her in the cab.
What's gotten into me?
Lilith grabbed my hand, yanking me from the cab after throwing a few crumpled notes at the driver.
"Which one's yours?" she panted, racing into the entrance hall.
"Floor three, apartment 301."
We sprinted the stairs, too full of lust and need to wait for the elevator.
"Are you gonna invite me in or what?" She breathed, leaning against my door. I jabbed the key into the lock.
"Come in, please, come in," I begged. If I wasn't so enraptured with her, the unprecedented passion and intense desire burning might have scared me but as it, Lilith and getting her naked in my bed is all I could think about. I grasped her hand, pulling her to my bedroom. She pounced, pinning me to the bed, her lips on my neck, suckling at me like her life depended on it. A sharp stinging spread from my neck, creeping down to my toes. Christ, I need her so much it hurts. I grappled with the buckles on her corset top, pushing her off me for better access. her lips dazzled in the light from the bedside lamp. Her knees rested either side of my body, she leaned back, grinning, teasing me as she unbuckled her top, one agonizing buckle at a time, starting at the bottom. I bit down on my lip, the wait killing me.
She popped open the seco
nd buckle, revealing her taut, toned stomach, I reached forward, skimming my hands over her slender midriff. Her eyes were so bright they lit up the room. She reached the top buckle. I held my breath, my gaze locked on her ample bosom. Her full round tits bounced free of their leather confines. She is breathtaking, every inch of her is the embodiment of perfection. It's almost like she's not human. There's something supernatural about her beauty. I sprang forward, latching on to her right nipple, letting my tongue roll over the hard nub. She purred, stroking her hands through my hair. Her touch sent shock waves through my body. Every nerve ending tingled. Something inside me needed her and the feeling was intense I couldn't ignore it.
"No, Chloe," she whispered, "you've already given me what I need, now it's your turn."
I have?
She pulled my face from her breast, resting me on my soft bedding, spreading my legs apart. My dress rode up, revealing my soaked, black panties. She shuffled down the bed, placing herself between my open legs, her face inches from my throbbing pussy.
"You are delicious, Chloe," she said, "I can't wait to taste you."
"I can't wait either," I whimpered. I was so eaten up with need, I lost all my inhibitions, tearing my panties off myself, throwing them across the room before bucking my hips so my pussy smashed into her face. Lilith grabbed my hips, pinning me down.
God, her grip is strong. I can't budge an inch, it's like she has the strength of a thousand men. She held me still, teasing me with her tongue. It traced the length of my pussy, slipping through the slick wetness, lapping up every drop of my arousal. My body trembled, a knot of tension built between my hips.
"Please, Lilith," I begged her.
She grinned, cupping her hands under my ass lifting me to her mouth. Her tongue lashed over my clit, finger probed my tight pussy. I clenched around them. She knew my body like someone made it just for her. Her tongue circled my clit, exactly the way I like it. The tension built and built until it took hold of my entire body. My back arched, stars danced in my eyes. I gripped her hair, holding her in place, crushing her face against my pussy.
"Oh, Jesus," I moaned.
I exploded, riding the best climax of my life, cumming hard over her face. It was unholy, the power she had over my body. She licked, nipped and teased until I could take no more, ripping three more hard orgasms from my spent body. I collapsed in her arms, my body soaked in sweat.
"I think I'm in love," I sighed, my eyelids heavy.
"They all say that," she smiled, curling into my side, "but they never mean it."
"I mean it. I really truly mean it."
And I did. Every word. She is my addiction. I need her. I love her. No matter what it takes, I will marry her. I wrapped my arm over her naked body, pulling her in close, falling asleep with her long, ebony hair splayed over my face, her scent filling my nostrils.
***
The early morning sun swamped my room. My skin burned and my arms were empty. I bolted upright. A hand-scribbled note rested on my bedside table.
"Thanks for everything, Chloe. You are amazing. Lilith x."
A huge gaping hole opened in my soul.
What did she do to me last night? Did she spike my drink with Viagra or something? Whatever it was, I need more of it.
Exhausted, I dragged my aching body from the bed. Confronted my reflection in the bathroom mirror, I realized why Lilith left in a hurry. I probably scared the crap out her. Mascara stained my cheeks, where I'd cum so hard it brought tears to my red, puffy eyes. Her lips left mine swollen and blood red and two small marks, like pinpricks, scarred my neck. Other than my lover abandoned me without saying goodbye and every muscle in my body ached and burned like I'd ran a marathon, I felt awesome, considering the vodkas Lilith bought me.
Chapter 2 - Lilith
Head swimming with images of Chloe, naked, her body thrashing in my grip as I played her like a fiddle, I crept back into the barracks. Her scent stayed with me, lingering on my clothes and in my hair. I so badly wanted to stay with her it hurt to leave her there, sleeping peacefully, her body spent but leave I must. I made it to the shadowy barracks just in time. Unable to tear myself away from her; I stayed too long. The sun inched over the horizon a second after I closed the door, blocking out the deadly rays.
"Princess Lilith," the master smiled, "I trust you fed well?"
"Yes, sir. I'm stuffed."
Chloe gave me everything I needed and more, but I still wanted more, and she'd have given me it. She was strong, stronger than any human I ever met. It's a shame they forbid relationships between humans and vampires. Until the war between vampires and the humans who hunt them is over, any vampire found getting mentally close to a human faces death, so too does the human. I can't be with Chloe. I can't even tell her what I am. Not that she'd believe me, anyway. I risked it once, telling a boy I thought I loved. He laughed until he wet himself and then left my crazy ass. Feeding off a human until they expire is also against our laws.
I flopped to my bunk, gazing up at the underside of the bunk above my mind filled with Chloe.
Is meeting someone more than once classed as getting close to them?
Chapter 3 - Chloe
A fist swung for my head, I ducked a second too late, the padded red glove smashed into the side of my head. Thank God for training helmets, I thought sourly, scooping myself off the floor.
"What the hell, Dad? I wasn't ready."
"An attacker won't wait until you say go, Chloe, you must always be ready."
I sighed, shaking my head. He was training me in the art of Jujitsu. I already had black belts in karate, judo and kickboxing. Jujitsu was his new obsession. His insistence on me studying every martial art he's ever heard of always baffled me. I'm trained well enough to protect myself from any man, no matter how big they are and I'm training to be a doctor, not a damn cage fighter. His foot connected with my shin. I landed with a thud on my ass, sweat dripping from my forehead.
"What's his name?"
"What?"
"You're distracted today."
"I'm not distracted," I yanked myself to my feet, taking up a defensive stance with my gloved fists protecting my face and my feet hip-width apart, lest he hit me again, "I'm exhausted. We've trained for two hours today. Can't we take a break?"
So I can sit and fantasize about Lilith more? She's all I've thought about all week. I'm doodling her name on my notebooks like I'm a love-struck teenager. Stacey agreed to go to Club X with me on Saturday, already.
"Do you think your enemy would give you a break?" he snapped.
"Dad, I'm a med student, I don't have enemies."
He sighed, crossing his arms, chewing on his lips. His tattooed arms strained with tension, a vein his neck throbbed. Unless there's something he's not telling me like he's secretly a Mafia boss and there are men just lining up to take his loved ones captive is the attitude to my training is stupid.
"It's time you knew the truth, Chloe."
"The truth?" I raised my eyebrows.
"About your destiny."
"My destiny is to be a doctor, Dad, nothing else. I'm tired, I'm sweaty and I have a paper due tomorrow. I'm going home."
"Tomorrow? Meet me at Murphy's bar? It's important," he begged.
"Fine," I seethed. Tomorrow is Saturday, I wanted to check out Club X, hoping to find Lilith. With any luck, my dad will tell me some inane story about a fight he once got into as a boy which made him wish he knew martial arts, so he vowed his children would all learn them. I'll pat his arm, make soothing noises and promise to try harder in our next training session and then I can head to the club, meet up with Lilith, take her home and get some real training in.
My mind stayed on Lilith all night, from the second I left the gym to the minute I fell asleep. How I finished my college paper, I'll never understand. I can't tell you what I wrote in it. but I can tell you all about the naughty daydreams I had about Lilith. I am addicted to a woman whose last name is a mystery.
Chapter 4 - Lilith
"Left, right, left, right," my commander bellowed. Under the silver glow of the moon, I marched in step with my unit. My chest swelled with pride. For years I begged my father to allow me to fight with the warriors, but he always denied me. Unfair, I thought. I never asked him to turn me. It's not my fault he met my then-human mother and fell in love and how was I supposed to understand what I agreed to when I was eighteen and he offered to turn me?
My mother couldn’t face outliving me, it was both of us or neither of us. I kind of liked him and he had money. Without him, we suffered in poverty. I agreed to eternal life for all the wrong reasons. And now, I regret it. Sometimes. All my dreams vanished that day, I became nothing more than Princess Lilith, vampire royalty. It sounds better than it is. Truthfully, what it means is danger. Vampire hunters know my name and if they ever got their murderous hands on me, I'd pay for the sins of a thousand rogue vampires.
It's against the law now, to turn a human, a law put in place to protect us from hunters. Apart from the necessity of feeding, our kind stay well clear of humankind.
"And turn," the commander yelled. We marched into the meeting hall. Rows and rows of benches were filled with the best of the best, our most elite defense forces and I'm one of them. I fought my smirk as I slipped into a pew with my unit.
The head of special ops waited at the front for us to finish filling the massive hall, his face grave. Whatever the big announcement was, it was nothing good. He raised his hand, waiting for silence to fall over the hall. Hundreds of soldiers sat stock still, waiting for orders.
"Vampire hunters took one of ours last night." The hardened vampire who led our army spoke without emotion, his face blank and as white as snow. Until I met Chloe, I thought he was the most beautiful creature who ever walked the earth. Sadly, I wasn't shocked one of ours was missing. It was happening more often lately. The hunters were really stepping up their game after a rogue vamp killed a teenager. We dealt with him, they sentenced him to death, the usual punishment for murder but unlike the savage humans, we held a trial for him, examined evidence and gave him the option to defend his actions. When they take one of ours, we vanish into the night, never to be seen again, except once, a young vampire, younger than me escaped. They'd tortured him for a week, trying to find out where my coven lived so they could exterminate us all.
